Brow and forehead lift
A brow and forehead lift is generally the preference of those that feel uncomfortable with facial wrinkles, and would prefer a younger look. The procedure involves a number of techniques and can also be used to compliment other surgical procedures such as a facelift for example. There are a number of variations of this procedure and our intention is always to tailor this to the client's requirements. This procedure is generally conducted under local anaesthetic whilst a sedative is used to stop the patient from feeling any pain.
Preparation
Before undergoing brow and forehead lift surgery consideration and preparation are vital elements. Those who are considering the procedure should clearly outline their targets, and openly discuss this with their consultant. Those who are considering the procedure should be aware of the risks and complications that can arise, as well as the practical changes that are needed prior to surgery. Patients are required to stop taking medication which alters blood viscosity; including aspirin, birth control and hormone correction. In preparation of surgery it is also highly recommended that patients avoid smoking, to provide a quicker recovery. Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery, including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding vitamins, iron tablets and certain medications. If you develop a cold or an infection of any kind, especially a skin infection, your surgery may have to be postponed.
After the operation
In order to reduce any swelling or bruising it is recommended that you keep your head up right as much as possible. Bandages, stitches and staples can be removed with the first week following surgery. Patients should wait around 2-3 days before showering and using shampoo. Bruising should disappear after the first three weeks however it is OK to return to work after one week, as long as strenuous work is left until after 3 weeks.

For the large majority of adults who under go a brow and forehead lift the results will be a success with no unforeseen consequences. Despite this, the capacity for risks and complications remain, as is the case for almost all surgical procedures.
