Due to the current Corona Virus Crisis, the Private Hospitals and Clinics from where I normally consult have been closed and we are only able to see urgent patients. I apologise for the inconvenience.

If there is anything that you wish to discuss with me, then could you please contact Debbie my private secretary on 07502036457 or at debbiewood147@gmail.com, with your contact details and I will telephone you with advice and if it is necessary I will make arrangements to see you at the nearest private hospital to you.

No-one knows exactly how long this situation is going to continue, but one would estimate it will probably be between three and six months before we get back to normal. I look forward to seeing you at that time and wish you and your families all the very best.

Breast Uplift

A breast uplift is generally the preference of those that are happy with the size of their breasts however are unsatisfied with their firmness or the effect of gravity on their nipples. The surgery involves making incisions around the breast and in most cases the surgeon is able to achieve the desired results without using implants depending on the current shape and condition of your breasts and skin. In some patients, particularly those following massive weight loss, there is not enough of the patients own breast tissue and breast implants are required to give fullness to the breasts. This operation is called a Mastopexy Augmentation. Mastopexy is an operation where the patients expectations can exceed what surgery can deliver.

Preparation

Before undergoing a breast uplift consideration and preparation are vital. Those who are considering the procedure should clearly outline their targets and openly discuss this with their consultant. Those who are considering the procedure should be aware of the risks and complications that can arise as well as the practical changes that are needed prior to surgery. Patients are required to stop taking medication which alters blood viscosity including aspirin, birth control and hormone correction. In preparation of surgery it is also highly recommended that patients avoid smoking to promote a quicker recovery.

Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery including guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, taking or avoiding vitamins, iron tablets and certain medications. If you develop a cold or an infection of any kind, especially a skin infection, your surgery may have to be postponed.

After the Operation

The patient will experience minor bruising and swelling. Bending, lifting and straining should certainly be avoided and it is also advised you sleep on your back to avoid any unnecessary pressure. To get maximum benefits it is recommended that you wear a support bra. Stitches will be removed at around 2-3 weeks following surgery. If they are not removed they will dissolve automatically.
