Back and Lateral Chest Reduction

Following massive weight loss there can be a significant amount of excess skin and fat in the upper or lower back. The upper back can be corrected by removing these tissues leaving a scar parrallel to the bra strap. The excess lower back tissues are usually removed as part of a lower body and buttock lift operation.

On occasion there can be excess tissue on the outer aspects of the abdomen and chest. This excess tissue can be removed but do leave linear scars at each side of the chest and abdomen.

As with all operations on massive weight loss patients the risks include wound infection, seroma, numbness of the skin and permanent scars.
