Thigh Reduction

Following massive weight loss there can be excessive loose skin and fat on the inner aspect of both thighs which can cause irritation and discomfort.

To remove these tissues requires a vertical thigh reduction following liposuction. This results in a long scar running form the groin to the knee, situated on the inner aspect of the thigh. The operation results in an improvement in both cosmesis and function in the leg, however there are complications such as permanent numbness, scarring, seroma, infection and deep venous thrombosis.

Most patients require bed rest for 48 hours followed by very gentle mobilisation and it takes around 6 to 8 weeks to fully recover from this form of surgery.
